Winnie became an Angel Today

by Karen
(Ontario, Canada)

My little girl became an Angel today, got her wings and is flying to rainbow bridge. I am just so sad. She was part of me for 16 1/2 years. She was an independent Jack Russell Terrier and not much of a snuggler but for the last year I relished her old age as cuddles were free for the taking.

We spent most of our time together. Loved our three or four walks a day. She was also a snowbird and loved Florida where she will now stay forever.

Some of my favourite things to say were;
Is there a dog named Winnie in there? When I would come home and get her out of her crate.
Your my little girl. During our snuggle time.
She also had the nick name of Hunter as there were never enough chipmunks or geckos to chase.
My heart is so broke and my eyes hurt from crying.
The house is so silent and empty. No nails tapping on the wood floors.

In her later life Winnie suffered from doggie dementia and she was constantly getting herself stuck somewhere. We have pictures and can chuckle at her antics but I was always around to rescue her. I’ll post a picture or two.
She will always be in my heart.....I LOVE YOU Winnie

I'm so very sorry for your loss. Winnie sounds like an amazing dog and your relationship was one to cherish <3 ~ Sue
