Hi, My question is i have a 5mth old bichon-poodle.. hes still teeth, and hes very playful but sometimes hes too playful that he begins to bite.. sometimes too hard.. what can we do to relief his biting with us?
He does have chewing toys and i just bought him that chewing kong. not yet have i put any treats or peanut butter yet. Is there anything i can spray on us so he won't try to bite us or not sure!! please help!
Hi Veronica Biting and nipping is a very common (and natural) puppy behavior, but it is definitely something you need to discourage and the earlier the better because an older puppy can give some pretty painful bites even in play!
I'd recommend that you read my Puppy Biting page as it has all the tips and advice you need to correct this behavior.
It's important to realize that it takes time, patience and consistent correction to overcome a behavior that has become a habit (which at your pup's age is what has happened), but if you stick with it you will be able to put an end to it.
