When I walk outside with my 4 month lab puppy she nips and bites at my pant legs, what do i do?
Hi Just about every puppy in the world nips and bites to begin with. It's a normal part of canine behavior. It can be worse in some breeds, and some individual puppies, and also in pups taken from their momma and siblings too early (ie before 8 weeks of age).
However, just because it's normal doesn't mean that it's acceptable and you do need to discourage this habit consistently and patiently.
You can find all the tips and advice you need to stop this annoying puppy habit on my Puppy Biting page.
It's important to be consistent and patient though, and not to expect overnight success. It can take a few weeks of 'training' before you see results. Most puppies do 'grow out' of this behavior to some extent as they mature, but if you don't teach them that it's not okay they may continue into adulthood - and that's not what you want.
