Puppy has separation anxiety and poops and pees all over the house
I want to know how i can cure my dog from separation anxiety, every time i leave, even for a minute he poops and pees everywhere in my place! he whines, barks i cant even go in a store for a second without him flipping out, he's a six month old doberman pinscher pup?
I don't know what to do I'm at the point where i just want to get rid of him.
It sounds as though your pups' anxiety is pretty extreme, but separation anxiety is fairly common and treatable if you're patient and consistent with your pup.
I have several pages with detailed information and advice for dealing with this behavior issue, plus a host of products (from natural supplements to training and behavioral modification techniques) that can help. It's a much bigger subject than I can tackle in a Q&A situation like this but you'll find everything you need on these pages....
I know this can be very stressful and frustrating to deal with for you, but it's much worse for your dog! For him to be so scared and anxious all the time must be horrible.
'Getting rid of him' is the worst possible thing you could do for him, as that would ramp up his anxiety and take away everything that is familiar to him. He would be terrified, and find it very difficult to settle into a new home/environment.
Patience and love, plus consistent routine, behavior modifications and more exercise should help. Read the above pages very thoroughly and follow their advice to give your pup (and you) the best chance of a happy, less stressful, relationship.
I'd also recommend that you talk this over with your veterinarian as he may be able to offer some advice or tips, and a dog behavioral specialist would also be a good idea. They may be able to help you get through this more quickly.
I wish you the very best of luck and hope your pup is feeling much less anxious soon.
