I have a Bichon. He is about 18 weeks old. He loves me so much and follows me everywhere. The problem is, he won't cuddle with me. The only time he will is in the car while I'm driving. I take care of him so well and he never want to cuddle. Bichon's are supposed to be cuddly.
The other problem is he won't come to anyone in my family or come to friends. He runs away from everyone.
What can I do with these 2 problems???
Hi Puppies are all individuals, and many puppies are either too active, or too shy/anxious to stay still and cuddle to begin with.
Bonding with your puppy takes time, and the relationship between you needs to build. It may be that your pup won't be ready to 'cuddle' for some time, but that doesn't mean that he doesn't love you. He's obviously very attached to you and wants to be with you, that will develop into a closer relationship as he grows and matures. The first few weeks, even months, are an adjustment period for everyone - puppy and humans.
As for him not coming to others - I'd guess he's just a bit of an anxious puppy. Again this will improve given time. Don't try to rush or force him, that will only make him scared and have the opposite effect. Make sure he gets plenty of socialization (see my Socialize Your Puppy page for all the info you need on this), as that will help him to be less shy.
Overall, just give him time and space to adjust to his world and the people in it, and I expect he will be just fine. Best of luck with him.
