i do not know what is wrong with her. what am i doing wrong? please help me! thanks,
Hi Kisha At 6 and a half weeks old, your puppy is a tiny baby, and she's really too young to have left her momma.
She is probably homesick, and a bit scared and lonely. Dogs are pack animals, and Bellas' strongest instinct is to stay close to her 'pack', and you and your family are her pack now! My Bringing Home A New Puppy page has lots of info on this adjustment period.
I'm happy that she's doing well with her potty training, that's excellent, because until about 8 weeks of age she will have very little bladder/bowel control. She really needs a potty break at least every hour, and probably twice during the night. You can find out more about this on my Crate Training page.
Although it's natural for her to want to be with you all the time, it's important that she learns to stay in her crate or pen, or by herself for short periods. You will just need to ignore her crying at these times, as long as you know she's safe and doesn't need a potty break. She will eventually come to understand that she needs to just wait quietly and you will come back.
Because of her age she will be a bit more needy and demanding though, so you need to be very loving and patient with her.
